The meals and waitstaff in restaurant were good. Best French Toast ever! Concierge staff wonderful. Elevators fast, clean, pleasant. Room: to open the door, it needs both hands. The short amount of time the lock will let you in means you have to open the door AS YOU ARE using the key. And you have to get the timing just right. Then to enter since I had to put down anything in my hands to unlock it, i had to hold the door open with my foot to pick up those items, Then, because it is so terribly heavy, I had to brace my feet and then use both arms to push against the door with all my weight to open it enough to enter, holding it open with my back as I went in with my stuff in my hands. Never met a door, in all my travels, that is so poorly designed. Bathroom: why do you hide the wastebasket behind the toilet? why is it so small? I could not reach it, so I had to throw things into it, hoping the items would land in it. Of course, most of them did not. Why is there a heavy mirror in the way on the counter? I could not reach down to open the drain enough in the tub for the water to run out. If there is another way to do so, I did not find it. The divide in the room wastebasket defeats the purpose. Things hit the divide and bounce out. The writing on the phone is so small and there is not enough contrast between the letters and the black background, so it was hard to use the phone.I could not read each category without moving the phone into a lighted area to see what it said. One of the bedside lamps was broken at the place the light bulb is screwed in. I didn't know if it was safe, so I asked that it be removed. The staff who came, wanted to leave it. I insisted that it be taken out and that the wiring be checked. Pillow SMELL. These are really bad. I could not tell if it was the pillowcase or the pillow itself. I checked all the pillows to try to identfy the least stinky. And once I found that one, I dind't want to have to go through that again, so I asked that the housekeeping ONLY clean the bathroom. Leaving a message at the desk. but, of course, they made up the bed, which meant I had to repeat the process of the night beffore, trying to find a pillow which didnot stink. This made me realize that they all smelled equally bad. This is a real problem, which you should address. Between that and the impossibly heavy door, I realy would not return to this hotel. Upholstered chair. The colors are unfortunate. having the grey contrast color makes it look like it is dirty all over. The place where there is no doubt that the chair is dirty is on the seat cushion. I looks like someone did something unmentionable and it was never properly cleaned. The pull for the drape should be replaced with a good quality metal one. This one is hard to manage. You should be aware that this is really not a good example of a room for people with some disabilities. The grab bars are very good. all well placed. But: people who cannot stand could not reach the shelves over the toilet. Someone without the use of an arm would nto be able to use the door as it is. Someone with decreased vision would not be able to use the phone. My vision is 20/20 and I had problems. One more thing to mention: The chairs in the lobby/bar area are not made for people with disabilities to use easily. Many people have to put weight on their arms to help pull themselves out of a chair. Those very high and very low arms on those chairs eleminate places where some people can sit as they will not be able to help themselves up with their arms. I'm sure most people don't tell you these things, they just never return. Sorry to have to be the messenger.

We use an eco-friendly bar soap for our guests as well (has a hole in the mid section of the bar to reduce wasted soap). We also draw the drapery in each vacant guest room during summer months so that the room temperature doesn’t climb causing air conditioning to run unnecessarily in a vacant room. iii.Clean the World - this is a national program that many hotels have implemented which allows our housekeeping department to place used soap and bottles in our guest rooms into a specific container so that they may be shipped to a treatment facility and reformed into new soaps and shipped to partner countries for re-use (this should be implemented by end of July 2018 at The Grove Hotel). iv.Food & beverage - we compost food waste, recycle all packaging used for delivery of goods and also only offer water service to guests upon request.
