Listed below are some of the descriptions of our renovated rooms that we have for you to select from......**The Safe Room - Come see what we found behind a wall during our renovations. This early 1900's safe was tucked in behind a wall waiting to be found. Read the history of this particular safe as you experience the comfort of this room. A very unique boutique room. **Travel Channel Suite - Visit the room that started it all. The Travel Channel came to The Charles Inn to lend a hand and built a new style suite and found some new owners also. A unique room with a boutique style.**The Kings Suite - Reflecting the history and accomplishments of Bangor's own, Stephen and Tabitha King. Including some props from his days working at the New Franklin Laundry, some movie posters, books and excerpts from his biography.**Hannibal Hamlin Room - Abraham Lincolns 1st Vice President lived and died in Bangor, ME. This room takes you back in time to Hannibal's sitting room. A very elegant room which makes you forget you are in a hotel.**Logging on the Penobscot - The Penobscot river has a rich log driving history. Bangor was once labeled the logging capital of the world. This room shows some of the tools of the trade in a rustic "loggy" type of room. This room has sort of a studio feel to it.**Presidents Room - Celebrates the 13 U.S. Presidents that have visited Bangor. From Teddy Roosevelt giving a speech at Bass Park (oh my), charging admission (what a scandal) to U.S Grant speaking from the Bangor House and much more.**USS Maine Room - Has nautical flare expressing history of the sinking and pointing the traveler to The Davenport Park Maine Memorial. Also speaks of a local resident who was on that ship and died six months later from the injuries sustained there.**Veterans of Valor Room - Showcases the nine men from Bangor/Brewer who have received the congressional medal of honor. Along with reverence for all our veterans.**Protect and Serve - With artifacts on loan from the Bangor Police Museum, this room celebrates the rich history of Bangor's Finest. From the PD's blacksmiths apron to a cell door from the Bangor City Jail circa 1840.**Agriculture Room - This room displays some equipment used years ago in agriculture in Maine. It also highlights some local farms and vineyards that encourage visitors. Come experience the Maine Wine Trail or roam through a corn maze while eating ice cream all within a short drive from The Charles Inn.**Paul Revere Room - A little known battle in the American Revolutionary War was called the Penobscot Expedition of 1779. It started at the town of Castine and ended with the surrender of Bangor to the British forces. The American ground troops were led by Col. Paul Revere (yes, THE Paul Revere). Point the guest to the waterfront area of Bangor to look at the cannons on display which were salvaged from the river. These came from the American ships that were sunk.**Great Downtown Fires Room - Reflecting the rich history of BFD and showcasing famous downtown fires specifically.**Brady Gang Suite - Step into the 1930's with a room designed to reflect not only the history but the era in which it took place. Tastefully done to reflect the events of that fateful day.**The Parlor - Step back in time to an elegant sitting room once known as the Parlor. Victorian in style designed to help you relax in a room with a wonderful view of the square.**The Study - Bangor has been the home of some great old Victorian era homes. Most of these homes enjoyed a great room called a study with wonderful old books, a great fireplace, desk and some comfy chairs to enjoy your coffee.

We do not offer a free complimentary breakfast. We do however, have a lovely coffeehouse located off of our lobby that offers pour-overs, lattes, espresso, cortados, cappuccino, and a variety of pastries, cakes, muffins and light lunch items daily.

Since we are the only hotel in downtown Bangor, we unfortunately do not have on-site parking. Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm is limited time parking on the street and permitted parking as well for local business owners.Monday - Friday 5pm - 8am is FREE anywhere on the streetSaturday and Sunday (24 hours) is FREE anywhere on the street We ask that you do not park in front of local businesses.Under the parking garage is FREE 5pm - 8 am weekdays and all day Saturday and Sundays.PARKING GARAGE daily fee is $4.50 - Area Events (Concert Nights) $10.00 First two hours is FREE.NOTICE TO GUESTCharles Inn cannot be responsible for guest valuables.
