I have used this hotel in the past and have had good service and loved the location due to its convenience. However, I will now no longer use this property due to being treated with "the customer is never right" attitude. I called the front desk at the Springhill Suites Arundel Mills BWI in January 2025 to make two reservations for one week each just as I have done in the past. The front desk transferred me to the reservations department to make my reservations. Unbeknownst to me, the front desk transferred me to a third party reservation service, which booked my reservations under the wrong Marriott number and made the reservations nonrefundable. Once I realized what had happened upon receiving email conformations for my reservations. I called the front desk, Marriott reservations and Marriott customer service and was told no one would help me, even though this was the hotel's fault. I have never had this trouble before making reservations in this way, so I did not understand how this could happen. Since I was unable to rectify this before the stay, I opted to try to correct this after the first week's stay. Again, I was insinuated as to be an idiot and told that I was at fault for this mix up. Oddly enough, a business colleague that stayed at the hotel during the same time as I did during the first week, was charged $300 less than I was charged. And during the second week's stay a different business colleague stayed at the same time as I did and was charged $150 less than I was charged. I'm not sure what kind of business practices this hotel uses, but I would stay away from it. I will not stay at this property again.
I have utilized this hotel in the past for several business trips, calling the front desk to be transferred to the reservations department to make my reservation. When I utilized this technique in January of 2025, I was transferred, unbeknownst to me, to a third party reservation system, that subsequently booked me two non refundable stays at the hotel. Upon realizing what had happened, I attempted to rectify this through the hotel and Marriott corporate, with no luck. My next course of action was to try to rectify this at the check in desk. I was told upon check in that everything was corrected, yet when I checked out of the hotel six days later, I had two different hotel bills, with three different total billing numbers on them. After calling the hotel and Marriott customer service and conversing with Marriott corporate via email. There is still no explanation to this situation. I would be cautious of the reservation predatory practices used by this hotel. I will not stay at this hotel in the future.
